Maya (6/30/2002 - 9/16/2011) was our first Black and Tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and our first agility dog. Her tremendous spirit and love of competing inspired us to reach for the stars in agility with each of our dogs. Read more about the life and times of Maya on our MayaLu Dogs blog. 

 

Maya's AKC registered name is MACH 7 PACH Maya CD RA OF. Maya was Top Agility Cavlier in AKC Agility in 2005 and 2006, where she finished just outside the top 25 for all breeds. She was #2 Cavalier in 2004. Maya started competing in USDAA agility in 2007 where she won the Northwest Regional Steeplechase final. She was also in the finals of the Grand Prix securing a 3rd place and a semi-finals berth at Nationals.

 

Maya went to AKC Nationals in 2005, 2006 (where she finished in 22nd place overall for the 12" jump height out of a class of nearly 200 dogs), and 2007. She has been invited to the AKC Agility Invitationals for the top 5 dogs in each breed in 2006 and 2007, where she finished in 3rd place after 4 clean rounds and earned a place in the finals. Maya also competed in the 2008 invitationals and again got invited to invitationals in 2009.

 

Maya earned her first MACH in March 2005 and her 7th MACH in August 2009. She earned her PACH in April 2011.
